Bed Bugs in New Smyrna Beach, FL

Can you treat and eliminate the bed bugs on your own? Sure, but bed bugs are challenging pests to get rid of, since they hide so well and reproduce so quickly. In addition, the egg stage is resistant to many forms of treatment, so a single attempt may not be sufficient to complete the job. Achieving complete control can take weeks to months, depending on the nature and extent of the infestation, and everyone will need to cooperate and do their part.

First of all, you want to identify the problem and develop a strategy. Do not go into this guessing or assuming that everything will be fine.

  • Make sure all the methods you are selecting are safe, effective and legal.
  • Consider using non-chemical methods of killing bed bugs. The bigger, high-tech methods are for the professionals like us.
  • If needed, use pesticides carefully according to the label directions or hire a pest management professional. Look for EPA-registered pesticides and make sure bed bugs are listed on the label.
  • Every few days after you complete your initial cleanup and control processes, carefully look for any evidence of bed bugs.
  • Desiccants (drying agents) can be particularly effective in some situations since they work by drying out the bug (which means the bed bugs can't develop resistance to it).
Always continue to inspect for bed bugs at least every 7 days, just in case some of the eggs remained. If you’re feeling defeated by the bed bugs, it’s time to call a professional. Kudos for trying it yourself!
